Game day protocols follow current New Jersey policies on business and gatherings. The stadium was vacated at full capacity at the end of May. Tailgates will be permitted.

According to the Giants and Jets announcements, MetLife Stadium will operate cashless in all concession stands and retail operations.

Here are the game day protocols the Jets released on Thursday, based on guidance from the CDC and in accordance with the state’s current executive order:

FACE MASKS – As current New Jersey policies on business and gatherings allow, MetLife Stadium will operate at full capacity without face masks. Fans who are not fully vaccinated must continue to wear masks in indoor public spaces and are not required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test or present a vaccination card to enter.

CASH FREE TRANSACTIONS – To reduce touchpoints, MetLife Stadium will now operate cashless. Cash will not be accepted at concession stands and retail outlets. Pay with a debit or credit card using contactless Tap to Pay or a mobile wallet, chip or swipe. The Jets prefer Visa as a method of payment at MetLife Stadium. Reverse ATMs will be available throughout the stadium for guests to convert their money into a prepaid Visa debit card valid for purchases in the stadium and anywhere a credit card or debit card is accepted.

MOBILE TICKET OFFICE – To ensure contactless entry, all tickets for Jets games at MetLife Stadium will be mobile only. Your phone is your ticket. For more information on accessing and managing your mobile tickets, visit

TAILGATING & STADIUM ENTRY – Tailgating will be authorized. The car parks will open (5) hours before kick-off and the entrance gates will open 2 hours before kick-off.

IMPROVED CLEANING AND SANITATION – Improved and frequent cleaning and disinfection protocols were implemented throughout the stadium, including the use of electrostatic sprayers and hospital grade cleaning products. Frequently touched surfaces and high traffic areas are monitored and cleaned continuously during and after the event. Hand sanitizer dispensers are widely available throughout the stadium at entrances, halls and washrooms.

The Giants will be at home in Week 1 – Sept. 12 at 4:25 p.m. against the Broncos. The Jets’ regular-season home game opener takes place in Week 2 – Sept. 19 at 1 p.m. against the Patriots.
